During the month of May, our attention turns to Mother's Day, a special occasion to celebrate the women in our lives who have nurtured us with their love and support. This month, we honor mothers and mother figures everywhere with a special focus on the art that celebrates motherhood and those who birth artistic creations. From paintings and sculptures to photography and installations, take some time to explore the ways in which artists have captured the essence of motherhood and the bond between mothers and their children, as well as the emergance of creativity and profound wonder. 

Bring the women in your life to the Hammonds House Museum for Mother's Day on us! Admission is free for mothers (only) on Sunday, May 14, 2023, so come and enjoy our latest exhibition, Atlanta Black, which examines the existence of Blackness beyond our own imagination.
